Twilight Sparkle Unicorns head coach M.A. Larson has been given a contract extension that will see him coach the Unis until at least the 2025 season, according to reports from the Ponyville Express. The contract is worth $7.5 million dollars/8.6 million bits over a course of seven years.
"We're pretty pleased with the way M.A. has been handing the Unicorns success," said university founder Twilight Sparkle. "So we are looking forward to a number of solid years with Coach Larson here at my university."
"I have to say that I was pretty much expecting this," said Coach Larson at the press conference at the Tara Strong Convocation Center. "So I'm ready to get back to work and get the job done."
Some interesting new hires have been made. Brian Stewart is now the defensive coordinator after Momo Kawashima left for a new job. Former Fluttershy head coach Berry Punch is now the offensive coordinator at Twilight Sparkle. Meanwhile, a flurry of coaching changes have taken place at a number of schools across the PonyCon.
Rainbow Dash, after a disastrous 1-11 season, emptied out their coaching staff, including the now-disgraced Derpy Hooves. DJ Durkin is now the head coach at Dash, with Mike MacIntyre as the offensive coordinator and Ron English as the defensive coordinator. Dan Mullen is now the OC at Pinkie Pie, while Billy Bradford is now the DC. Mike Canales is now the head coach at the Spirit, with Art Briles as the offensive coordinator and Ruffin McNeil as the defensive coordinator.
