Quarterback Frank Whitworth passed for 680 yards and nine touchdowns and ran for 215 yards and another as M.A. Larson's Twilight Sparkle Unicorns gunned past the Michigan Wolverines, 110-38, at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Halfback Eric Love ran for 152 yards and a touchdown, wide receiver Justin Cummings caught 12 passes for 157 yards and a score, wideout Derrick Randolph caught eight passes for 109 yards and two scores and wideout Anthony Mitchell caught seven passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
"This is as good as it gets," Coach Larson said. "We are kicking off the season with the longest road trip in school history: eight games on the road because Twilight Stadium is going through structural improvements dating from the Winter Wrap-Up. They are expected to finish by Homecoming Week, so we are starting the season with a slew of road games."
Wide receiver Anthony Mitchell led the blockers with 20 pancakes while Randolph had 15 and Cummings had 10. Middle linebacker Michael Henderson led the defense in tackles with nine, while left end Willie Brown had five sacks.
Twilight Sparkle improve to 1-0 on the year and travel to Athens, Ga. next week to face the Georgia Bulldogs.
