This was no surprise; everyone who followed the Pony Conference through its young history expected it: the Unicorns of Twlight Sparkle University were picked by the coaches and media to finish first in the PonyCon for the 2018 college football season. Twilie earned the maximum 180 votes to finish first in a league that will see its talent drop down a few notches, according to experts. What makes this season even more amazing for Twilie is that there will only be two home games all season for the Unis: the Homecoming Game against Pinkie Pie on November 10 and the December 1 Senior Day Game against Rarity.

The Rainbows of Rainbow Dash took a massive hit from their losses of talent and are in a need of regrouping. They were picked to finish second in the poll. The Rarity Royals didn't take much of a hit this time around, as they were able to assemble a competent recruting class to cut their losses. They were picked third in the poll.

The Major Trouble of Pinkie Pie University may be in some major trouble after losing a lot of its top talent. With a shoddy offense and a barely-competent defense, Pinkie Pie were picked fourth. Applejack State's Appleknockers have the capability of making it to a bowl, but you don't get to bowl games on paper. You have to go out there and win them. AJSU was picked fifth. Rounding out the poll were the Fluttershy Spirit, who may also have it tough to make a bowl game this season with the losses on offense and defense.
