Ivan and Gabriel Broggini are the Swiss duo known as Sinplus and they performed a set of songs from their album, "Disinformation," on Monday night at the Pink Arena as part of a countdown to Major Trouble football. University president Pinkamena Diane Pie was on hand to witness the historic occasion.
"Oh, no question, we are avid sports fans and we love football," said Ivan. "Even though we prefer the popular round-ball version of football, we love this version as well."
"That is a really fun name," Gabriel said. "Pinkie Pie Major Trouble. Sounds really dirty. Maybe they are going to have an excellent year this fall.
"We wish them all the best and hope this performance gets the students fired up for the 2012 season."
After the performance, Ivan and Gabriel were handed special Major Trouble football jerseys for their efforts by the head coach, Cheeri Lee.
"I think Sinplus are an awesome band," Lee said. "They need to work on singing in English, but otherwise they are a class act in terms of entertaining. They are great."
