The Unicorns of Twilight Sparkle and Royals of Rarity will battle it out for the Celestia Trophy this weekend. At stake is a spot in the 2013 BCS National Championship Game against possibly the USC Trojans.
"Man, I am excited," said tailback Jono Kent. "I really want to play for a national championship. Rarity is a very good team, but we are a group that can face anybody on any given day.
"We are looking forward to this."
"I'm kinda scared of the Royals," said wide receiver D.J. "Pret" Pretorius. "They are so quick to the ball and they can neutralize our option attack with such fluidity and quickness. We are going to have our hands full."
This will be the first match that Her Highness Princess Celestia will attend, as will Twilight's older brother Shining Armor and his wife/Twilight's sister-in-law, Her Highness Princess Cadence.
"We are confident that Twilight's players will get the job done, but you can't underestimate a team like Rarity," Cadence said at a press conference in Canterlot. "We know how good Rarity's team is, so we are going to hope for a great performance from both sides."
Flim Flam Sportsbooks are calling for a 10-point upset victory by the Royals, with the over/under set to 100 points and the over.
The match will be televised by ABC, with a one-hour preview of the contest, featuring interviews by players and coaches from both teams.
