The Twilight Sparkle Unicorns can sense the finish line in sight, as they are one victory away from not only claiming the Western Athletic Conference title, but also sealing their spot in the BCS National Championship Game.
Here is a roundup of the week's action.
Twilight Sparkle 108, Fluttershy 45
An 80-point first quarter was more than enough for the Unicorns to overpower the Spirit. Bennie Means led the Twilie attack with 107 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Fluttershy QB Carl Porter passed for 609 yards and three touchdowns in the defeat. Fluttershy conclude their regular season next week against Pinkie Pie in the Battle for the Balloons, while Twilight Sparkle finish the regular season at home against Rarity College in the Battle for the Celestia Trophy.
Rarity 87, Pinkie Pie 83
In a back-and-fourth game at the House Party Stadium, a last-second touchdown pass from J. Gatewood to J. Prince with four seconds left sealed the victory for the Royals over the Major Trouble. Pinkie Pie wrap up their regular season at Fluttershy Stadium against the Spirit, while Rarity will hope to upset the heavily-favored Unicorns.
Rainbow Dash 72, Idaho State 0
No contest here, as John Paul Jones passed for 253 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Rainbows to a victory over the overmatched Bengals. The match will be a tuneup game for the Appledash Cup game next week against Applejack State.
Applejack State 83, Monmouth 0
Mat Caldwell ran for 238 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Appleknockers to a shutout victory over the Hawks at Applejack Stadium. Next week, they travel to Rainbow Park for Appledash 2012.
