Mike Gundy, we hardly knew ye. The former offensive coordinator for the Twilight Sparkle Unicorns left his position to become the new head coach at the University of California. A relative newcomer to coaching, Anzu Kadotani of Tokyo, Japan has been named the new offensive coordinator of the Unicorns. Kadotani is well-versed in the Run-and-Shoot style of play and believes she can help develop leaders and turn them into legends of the game.
"I used to make a career driving army tanks in high school, so I already have that mental edge necessary to run a offense like this," Kadotani said at her press conference at the Tara Strong Convocation Center. "As the new offensive coordinator, I plan to emphasize more of the pass and use the running game as a change-up. Since we also incorporate the flexbone formation in this, you'll see a little bit of the option thrown in.
"Outside of the game, I intend to develop our players into men of character, men of integrity and men of academic mind, body and soul. At Twilight Sparkle, our goal is to see these great student-athletes become the best they can be on AND off the field. We have a great assemble of tutors and staff ready to help them the best way we can and our faculty is there to assist them every step of the way.
"I have never been more excited for the future of the team and the fact that we return most of the players from last year's side. We're going to have a wonderful season and our fans are going to enjoy every minute of it."
