As the only WAC school taking action this week, Derpy Hooves's Twilight Sparkle Unicorns wasted no time in destroying the Boise State Broncos, 245-17, at Armor-Cadence Field at Twilight Stadium. Quarterback Tony Hickman was a one-man wrecking crew. Not only did he pass for 454 yards and eight touchdowns, he also ran for 201 yards and four more scores.

D.J. Pretorius led all receivers, catching seven passes for 318 yards and five touchdowns.

"Yeah, this was, uh, a very derptastic day for our guys," Hooves told the press. "Everybody and everypony is excited about the prospects of possibly winning a national title. But now, the tough stuff remains. We got Applejack State coming up in two weeks, and we need to get ready, because it won't be easy to stop those Appleknockers."

Gilbert Owens led a very fierce secondary, making six interceptions. Linebacker Chris Clifford recorded 14 tackles, a game-high.

"We have a lot of players that can pick off passes," Owens said after the match. "We are a pick six machine, and we are not afraid to confuse the receivers when we get the opportunity."

The Battle for the Big Wooden Apple is scheduled for Oct. 20 at Armor-Cadence Field. The match is a sellout.
