Week 8 in the 2012 college football season concluded and only three WAC teams took action this weekend. All three matches ended in rout. This will be the last week that all WAC teams will be unbeaten, as there are a couple of matches next week to open conference play. Here is the rundown on the action.
Rarity 122, Georgia 38
The No. 22-ranked Royals toppled the No. 2-ranked Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium. Bryan McPherson ran for 358 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Rarity College of the Arts. Next week, they open play at Diamond Stadium against Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash 121, Rice 10
Chalk up another loss for the hapless Owls, who were thoroughly outclassed, outwitted and outsmarted by the Rainbows at Rainbow Park Stadium. Quarterback John Paul Jones passed for 386 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 115 yards and two more scores. Rainbow Dash open up conference play on the road against Rarity next week.
Fluttershy 157, Texas A&M 42
The WAC's dominance over the SEC continued to shine through as the Spirit raced past the Aggies at Kyle Field in College Station. Quarterback Carl Porter passed for 464 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 330 yards and four more scores. The Spirit host Furman next week.
Off this week: Pinkie Pie, Applejack State, Twilight Sparkle
