Could Twilight Sparkle win their first-ever conference championship? After routing Rainbow Dash at Armor-Cadence Field, that is looking like a possibility. Meanwhile, Rarity flex their muscles against Applejack State and the likes of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy take out some Division I FCS cupcakes.
Twilight Sparkle 128, Rainbow Dash 23
Using a strong ground game, the Unicorns attacked on the ground to improve to 9-0 (2-0 WAC). Tom Pratt rushed for 199 yards and six touchdowns. Jeff Postlethwaite made 12 tackles and 8.5 sacks to lead an uber-stingy Twilie defense. "Epic Sax Guy" Sergey Stepanov caught two passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Rainbows. Twilight Sparkle have the next two weeks off before traveling to House Party Stadium to face the Pinkie Pie Major Trouble. Rainbow Dash's next match is on Nov. 3 against Pinkie Pie at the same venue.
Fluttershy 210, Montana 6
It was a clear and utter mismatch as Cole Porter passed for 816 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 352 yards and three more scores. Tailback Dennis Upshaw ran for 488 yards and nine touchdowns in the Spirit blowout. Next week, the Spirit travel to the Acres to face Applejack State.
Rarity 69, Applejack State 41
In a tight match at Diamond Stadium, quarterback Andrew Maynard passed for 314 yards, rushed for 204 yards and scored five touchdowns to lead the Royals past the punchless Appleknockers. Jackie's Henry Clay made 24 tackles in the defeat. Applejack State host Fluttershy next week, while Rarity host Cal Poly.
Pinkie Pie 255, Sacramento State 24
This was a joke of a contest, bar none. Sacramento State were run over by a big house party at House Party Stadium. The Major Trouble will hope for a much better test when they host Rainbow Dash in the Battle for the 50-Pound Horseshoe.
