Three matches involving WAC teams took place over the weekend, and one team that might night be bowling this year are the Appleknockers of Applejack State, who dropped their third league contest. Here is a roundup of the action in the Western Athletic Conference.

Fluttershy 45, Applejack State 24

Cole Porter passed for 367 yards and two touchdowns as the #14 ranked Spirit defeated the Appleknockers at Applejack Stadium. Jim Hogg passed for 174 yards and a touchdown in the defeat. Next week, Fluttershy take on Rainbow Dash in the Battle for the Blue Helmet, while Applejack State host Pinkie Pie in the Battle for the Apple Pie Trophy.

Pinkie Pie 94, Rainbow Dash 62

Strong safety Tim Rivers made 17 tackles to help propel the #19-ranked Major Trouble to a victory over the Rainbows and win the 50-Pound Horseshoe. John Paul Jones passed for 567 yards and five touchdowns in the defeat for Dashie, who will host Fluttershy in the Battle for the Blue Helmet. Pinkie Pie travel to Applejack Stadium next week to battle the Appleknockers for the Apple Pie Trophy.

Rarity 206, Cal Poly 14

In yet another beatdown at Diamond Stadium, the Mustangs were sent to the glue factory thanks to tailback Bryan McPherson, who rushed for 804 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Royals wrap up their nonconference slate at home against Eastern Washington.
