WAC Roundup: Week 9

Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash opened WAC play with victories, while Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie blew apart their FCS competition. Here is the roundup of results.
Twilight Sparkle 94, Applejack State 63
In a wild game in the rain, it was the Unicorn defense that won the day for Twilight Sparkle, as Gilbert Owens made six interceptions to lead the way. Quarterback Tony Hickman struggled in the victory, passing for 449 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. Tailback Sam Carson ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Appleknockers.
The Unicorns face Rainbow Dash next week, while Applejack State travel to Diamond Stadium to face Rarity.
Rainbow Dash 64, Rarity 57
A game-winning 39-yard touchdown pass from quarterback John Paul Jones to Alexey Vorobjov gave the Rainbows an upset victory over the #15-ranked Royals at Diamond Stadium. Jones finished the day with 667 passing yards and four scores, while rushing for 36 yards and two more scores. Roaysl QB Andrew Maynard passed for 341 yards and two touchdowns but threw three costly interceptions in the defeat.
A decisive tilt will be in the works for Rainbow Dash as they travel to Armor-Cadence Field at Twlight Stadium to face the Twilight Sparkle Unicorns. Rarity continue their season at home against Applejack State.
Fluttershy 255, Furman 28
The Paladins made a terrible mistake to schedule this match, and got 255'd at Fluttershy Stadium. The Spirit wrap up their nonconference slate against Montana.
Pinkie Pie 203, Western Illinois 25
Halfback Todd Parker rushed for 797 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead the Major Trouble to a victory over an overmatched Leathernecks team. Pinkie Pie wrap up their nonconference slate next week against Sacramento State.
