Are Twilight Sparkle the team of destiny? They continue to run over opposition left and right, and are on track to make it to the Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game. Here is the roundup of the action in the Western Athletic Conference.
Twilight Sparkle 174, Pinkie Pie 24
Bennie Means rushed for 233 yards and eight touchdowns as the Unicorns powered past the Major Trouble at the House Party Stadium. Pinkie Pie will hope for a much better performance next week against Rarity. Twilight Sparkle continue their season next week against Fluttershy.
Rarity 43, Fluttershy 41
In a much more exciting match at Fluttershy Stadium, the Royals did just enough to defeat the Spirit. Fluttershy's Carl Porter passed for 400 yards but only threw for one touchdowns. Andrew Maynard passed for 251 yards and two touchdowns to lead Rarity, who travel to House Party Stadium next week to face Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy host Twlight Sparkle next week.
Rainbow Dash 202, Northern Arizona 17
Never a close match. Csaba Walko ran for 231 yards, and 14 passes for 286 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in a one-sided route for the Rainbows. Next week, in a midweek tilt, the Rainbows face Idaho State.
Applejack State 238, Cal Poly 49
The Appleknockers were rarely tested by the punchless Mustangs, who were run over by an Applejack team that will most likely not see any bowl action in spite of being bowl eligible. Next weekend, the Appleknockers take on Monmouth.
