WAC Roundup: Week 2

Here is a roundup of matches involving teams in the Western Athletic Conference.
Twilight Sparkle 255, Alabama 47
A wild pick party in Ponyville saw Twilight Sparkle deliver its second upset of the season, a 255-47 hammering of the #1-ranked Crimson Tide. Marcus Bentley passed for 712 yards and eight touchdowns but also threw 14 interceptions in the defeat. However, it was a worse end for Alabama QB Martin Reese, who passed for 801 yards, four touchdowns, and a mind-blowing 31 interceptions.
The Twilight Sparkle defense is responsible for 78 interceptions this season, a school, WAC and NCAA team record. The Unicorns improve to 2-0 (0-0 WAC).
Applejack State 91, Bowling Green 0
The Appleknockers opened their inaugural season with a sensational shutout win over the Falcons. However, play in the rain was sloppy as QB Sam Houston passed for only 190 yards and two touchdowns. Tailback Sam Carson ran for 253 yards and five touchdowns.
The Knockers improve to 1-0 (0-0 WAC).
Fluttershy 134, New Mexico 27
The Spirit outclassed the Lobos in their nonconference opener. QB Carl Porter passed for 737 yards and 8 touchdowns in the blowout win. Tailback Dennis Upshaw ran for 314 yards and three touchdowns. Fluttershy improve to 1-0 (0-0 WAC).
